Sumario:Presents two speeches of Mr. Barros Sierra during his tenure as president of the Universitaria Nacional Autónoma de México. In the first he outlines to the Nuevo Consejo Universitaria of 1966 the educational and research responsibilities of the university and the reforms needed to meet these obligations. In the second speech, he confronts the students during one of the public demonstrations of the 1968 student riots. He denounces violence from any quarter and denounces the military occupation of the university at that time.
