Sumario:This book is a complete translation of Hamamatsu Chūnagon Monogatari, one of the few extant works of monogatari literature of the Heian period. It was probably written in the last half of the eleventh century, less than one hundred years after The Tale of Genji, and it has traditionally been attributed to Sugawara no Takasue's daughter, the author of Sarashina Nikki (As I crossed a bridge of dreams). It is important both for the intriguing story it tells and as a representative work of late Heian literature, showing the continued development of the monogatari genre in Japanese literary history.
