Sumario: | Recent theoretical work has shown that the combined measurement of the B/sub d//sup 0/rightward arrowpi/sup positive pi; /sup negative and B/sub s//sup 0/rightward arrowK/sup positive /sup negative CP asymmetries, under the assumption of invariance of the strong interaction dynamics by exchanging the d and s quarks (U-spin symmetry), provides a way to determine the CKM phase gamma. A study of the LHCb sensitivity of the direct and mixing-induced CP-violating observables of these decays is made and the results are presented, as well as the gamma angle sensitivity. To this purpose a selection optimization is performed and the annual yield and background-to- signal ratios for specific and combinatorial backgrounds are estimated for each B/sub d. |
