The main advantages of LHCb over the B factories are the access to the Bs system and very large B production rates. In addition, LHCb is a dedicated B physics experiment with excellent vertexing and particle identification capabilities. It is currently setting up its detector in its allocated LHC interaction region and is foreseen to be ready for data taking in November 2007 for the pilot run. |
