General design aspects for the PS2
The PS2 is proposed as a replacement for the existing PS accelerator. It is presently considered to be a normal conducting synchrotron with an injection energy of around 4 GeV and a maximum energy of around 50 GeV, significantly higher than the present PS that delivers 25 GeV protons.
