A Fast Microprogrammed Processor

The paper describes a fast digital microprogrammed processor which is connected on-line to a minicomputer. The design was started at the end of 1972, the original task being the fast generation of histograms in real time. Based upon experience with the prototype, which was brought into operation spring 1974, a more powerful general purpose model has been designed which is due for test runs by mid-1975.
