Sumario: | A general summary is presented of potential new physics signatures comprising primarily isolated leptons that could be expected in LHC collisions during the first 10 years. The talk first presents the LHC machine parameters, expected physics schedule, and possible leptonic signatures in the early years. A description is then presented of the various ATLAS and CMS detector components, including technical specifications and expected performance parameters, in the form of a side-by-side comparison. Finally, several of the leptonic signatures are discussed in detail, including predictions of the underlying models, the expected signal features, and luminosity required for discovery. |
