Sumario:Particle identification in ATLAS and CMS is discussed, outlining similarities and differences between two experiments. This talk concentrates on electron, photon, muon and tau identification. Plans for particle ID commissioning using early data (10-100pb-1) are shown. In particular the impact of the signal samples available at initial low luminosities (10^31cm-2s-1), such as Jpsi->ee/mumu, b,c->e and W->taunu in addition to Z->ee/mumu/tautau and W->e/munu, are discused.
