description The calibration of the electromagnetic calorimeter is one of the most important parts in the LHCb experiment. The aim of this thesis is to study the calorimeter calibration using real data to calibrate the energy measured in the LHCb calorimeter system. The method proposed is initially tested with MC photons to check its feasibility. The first check is done with a high energy photons enriched sample from a selected B-decay event, and also with photons generated as unique particle in an event. After this initial check, the method is applied using electron tracks from reconstructed J/psi. The reliability of this method is tested comparing the result obtained with the samples and making a study of the possible systematic error contributions to the obtained parametrization.
