Sumario:Currently a robot for the alignment control of the radioactive LHC collimators is under construction. Combining some sophisticated technologies with the advantages of old techniques, it will need to proof its performance during the alignment control of the collimators at point 7. This paper will focus on the status, developments and tests of the actual version of the system and will give some thoughts on the future perspectives for the remote measurements of the whole LHC machine, even in dangerous conditions for humans e.g. under radiation, during electrical tests, cool down or warm up.
