description | The ARDA-LHCb prototype activity is focusing on the GANGA system (a joint ATLAS-LHCb project). The main idea behind GANGA is that the physicists should have a simple interface to their analysis programs. GANGA allows preparing the application, to organize the submission and gather results via a clean Python API. The details needed to submit a job on the Grid (like special configuration files) are factorised out and applied transparently by the system. In other words, it is possible to set up an application on a portable PC, then run some higher-statistics tests on a local facility (like LSF at CERN) and finally analyse all the available statistics on the Grid just changing the parameter which identifies the execution back-end. |
