Sumario: | The paper presents a review of the average accelerator turnaround time in existing superconducting hadron machines (HERA at DESY@, RHIC at BNL§ and the TEVATRON at FNAL&). Based on the past experience with these previous hadron accelerators the paper aims at a best guess estimate for an initial and optimum turnaround time in the LHC during the first year of operation and for routine operation after the machine commissioning. |
