Sumario:This course is intended to introduce the Grid technology to scientists and engineers with no experience in this field. Participants will gain practical skills on how to quickly make use of distributed computing resources for their applications. The class begins will an introduction to the Grid technology and an overview of existing Grid applications. A case study will show the details of a real medical Geant 4 simulation running on the Grid. Hands-on exercises will give practical experience with using the application oriented tools such as Ganga (http://cern.ch/ganga) and DIANE (http://cern.ch/diane) to support solving scientific problems. The participants will have an opportunity to get involved into using the Grid beyond the scope of the course and get further support for their applications.
