Sumario: | The ATLAS detector, which is already collecting cosmic events, will be searching experimental proof of various theories beyond the Standard Model (SM) with the start of the LHC. Some of these theories, such as the E6 GUT models or 4th SM family, predict the existence of additional quarks which will be in the search program of ATLAS. These quarks, if they have the appropriate mass, will also contribute to the Higgs boson production, either via their participation in gluon-gluon fusion loops, or via their decay to Higgs + Jets. This talk will summarise the prospects of discovery at ATLAS of additional quark searches and the possible enhancement to the Higgs hunt due to these exotic quarks. |
