Corrections arising from the inhomogeneity of the solenoidal magnetic field

Sumario: | The magnetic field of the TPC is not perfectly solenoidal with a longitudinal field of B(z)=0.7 T , yet that assumption is made in the track reconstruction. To correct for effects arising from the actual inhomogeneity of the solenoidal field, tracks were generated in a dedicated GEANT4 simulation and tracked through what we consider a good representation of the actual magnetic field. The reconstruction of the same tracks under the assumption of a perfect solenoidal field leads to additive corrections that are applied to the track parameters of real data. The corrections are given separately for track reconstruction with and without the beam point. |
