Sumario:In these notes I present the content of relativistic quantum eld theory, and the way it purports to describe the electroweak Standard Model of particle physics, in the way it most appeals to me. I can claim neither exhaustiveness nor absolute mathematical rigour: after all, the subject is physics, not mathematics. The emphasis will be on physicality and applicability, and therefore I concentrate more on Feynman rules and Feynman diagrams than on hypothesized Lagrangians. The drawback of this is, unavoidably, that symmetry considerations retreat somewhat into the background leaving the limelight to diagrammatic results. This is all right: for I do not at present believe that symmetry rules the world.
