Sumario:A search for supersymmetry (SUSY) in dijet events with the CMS detector at the LHC is presented. This study is focused on a SUSY parameter space where squarks are pair produced and both decay directly to a quark and a neutralino. The latter escapes undetected and gives rise to the celebrated missing energy signature of supersymmetry. Although the background from QCD dijet events is overwhelming, the particular kinematics of the SUSY events allow powerful discriminating variables to be defined which should enable an early discovery with the first collision data.
