Sumario: | The measurement of the charged hadron pseudorapidity distributions in minimum-bias p-p collisions, using the tracker barrel layers of the CMS detector, is presented.
This measurement can provide an independent measurement of charged
particle production in p-p collisions at the new energy frontier.
Charged hadrons with transverse momenta larger than $30$ MeV/{\it c}
can be detected in the first pixel layer.
Its fine grained segmentation and correspondingly small occupancies
allows for the measurement of the
pseudorapidity distribution of charged hadrons by counting the number of
reconstructed hits, after appropriate corrections.
The analysis method is discussed in the context
of fully simulated and reconstructed p-p collisions. |
