b-tagging algorithms and performance in ATLAS

The ability to identify jets stemming from the fragmentation and hadronization of b quarks is important for the high-pT physics program of ATLAS: top physics, Higgs boson searches and studies, new phenomena. The algorithms to tag b-jets are described and their anticipated performance discussed. Finally, methods to measure b-tagging performance in the first data and the expected accuracy of those measurements are briefly discussed.
