Sumario: | The prospects for the discovery of heavy lepton-neutrino resonances with the ATLAS detector are evaluated using full detector simulation. The performance of large missing transverse momentum measurement is studied. Its impact on the lepton-neutrino transverse mass reconstruction, and on the backgrounds rejection, is then discussed. As benchmark, the sensitivity to a Standard Model like W0 is evaluated. Emphasis is put on the discovery potential of ATLAS with early data, namely with an integrated luminosity of 10 pb−1 to 10 fb−1. |
