Search for Leptoquark Pairs and Majorana Neutrinos from Right-Handed W Boson Decays in Dilepton-Jets Final States

Final states with high-pT leptons and jets are predicted by many Beyond the Standard Model scenarios. Two prominent models are used here as guides to understanding the event topologies: the scalar leptoquarks and the Left-Right Symmetry. In contrast to many SUSY signatures, their topologies rarely contain missing energy. Their discovery potential with early ATLAS data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of a few hundred inverse picobarns, is discussed.
