Sumario:The ATLAS forward physics program is discussed in the light of the future detector upgrades under study. These developments will enhance the overall physics potential of the experiment. The physics topics presented include: luminosity determination using the LUCID and ALFA detectors; diffractive measurements that should be possible with early data; and, the AFP project which plans to deploy proton taggers at 220 and 420 m from the ATLAS IP. The AFP program includes such physics topics as hard diffraction; diffractive Higgs production, two photon physics; and, new physics in the forward region.
