description The organization and the structure put in place for the machine check-out and for the beam commissioning have been instrumental for the rapid progress of the commissioning of the LHC Machine before the Sector 34 incident. After a review of the 2008 experience, the organization for the 2009 will be sketched with the expected commissioning steps and the roles of the different actors. The issue of the organization during unplanned machine stops and their possible use for superconducting magnet training and interlock testing for operation at higher energy/intensity will be briefly discussed.
