Physics studies with J/psi and Upsilon in early ATLAS data
An analysis of J/psi and Upsilon production at LHC is expected to be one of the first physics results to come out of ATLAS, with large production rates predicted at 10 TeV. Sumario: | An analysis of J/psi and Upsilon production at LHC is expected to be one of the first physics results to come out of ATLAS, with large production rates predicted at 10 TeV. Beyond the use of J/psi and Upsilon as tools for commissioning and rediscovery of the Standard Model at a new energy frontier, I will discuss plans in ATLAS to make world-leading measurements of the spin-alignment of quarkonium, as a probe of QCD, with 10-100 pb^-1 of data. |
