| Sumario: | The understanding of QCD jet events in supersymmetry is one of the biggest background-determination challenges in SUSY searches. Effects such as dead material and pile-up of machine backgrounds can significantly affect the missing transverse energy. Other effects like jet punch through and cosmic ray backgrounds can also be important background sources. We discuss several QCD background sources and techniques under development in ATLAS to remove or estimate them. |
