Sumario: | The energy scale of the LHC, as well as the large size of the ATLAS and CMS detectors, present new challenges for the detection of direct photons as well as new opportunities for physics observations. This talk will examine the direct photon energy and momentum measurement capabilities of the two large LHC detectors for both converted and unconverted photons, and the resulting prospects for diphoton physics channels such as Higgs -> gamma gamma. |
