description A prospective analysis of the inclusive search for the Standard Model Higgs Boson in the decay channel $H\rightarrow\gamma\gamma$ with the CMS experiment at the LHC is presented. The analysis relies on the determination of the background characteristics and the systematics uncertainties from data and is applied to a Monte Carlo model of the QCD background, with full simulation of the detector response. The discrimination between signal and background exploits information on the kinematics and isolation of the photons. The resolution of the reconstructed Higgs boson mass profits from the excellent energy resolution of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter. A discovery significance above 5 sigma is expected at an integrated LHC luminosity below $30~\mbox{fb}^{-1}$ for Higgs boson masses below $141~\mbox{GeV}/c^2$.
