description The Proton-Synchrotron (PS) accelerator at CERN will be supplied by a new power system. The pulsed operation of the PS accelerator requires a specific design of the main components of the power system. This paper presents some key elements of the design of DC/DC power converters in terms of aging of power semiconductors, the strategy of harmonics voltage suppression and the design of the output filters. Finally, the performance of this new power system is presented.
