ATLAS results on charm production at LHC

First ATLAS results on charm production at LHC are reported. A charm quark in the final state has been identified by the presence of a $D^{*\pm}$ meson. $D^{*\pm}$ mesons have been reconstructed from their decays to $D^{0}\pi^{\pm}$ following by the decay $D^{0} \rightarrow K^{-}\pi^{+}$ (+ c.c.). The signal has been identified in the difference between invariant masses of the $D^{*\pm}$ and $D^{0}$ candidates.
