Preliminary studies for the measurement of the inclusive muon spectrum in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector
We report a first measurement of the inclusive muon spectrum in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC collider. The measurement has been performed in the kinematic range |η| < 2.5 and pT >4 GeV. Data have been collected using a minimum-bias trigger. The present m...

Sumario: | We report a first measurement of the inclusive muon spectrum in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC collider. The measurement has been performed in the kinematic range |η| < 2.5 and pT >4 GeV. Data have been collected using a minimum-bias trigger. The present measurement is based on an integrated luminosity of 0.6 nb−1 . A comparison of data with the Monte Carlo simulation is also shown. |
