Performance of the missing transverse energy reconstruction in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV with the ATLAS detector
In April 2010, the ATLAS experiment collected more than 34M collision events at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Sumario: | In April 2010, the ATLAS experiment collected more than 34M collision events at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. These events offer a good opportunity to test the performance of the missing transverse energy reconstruction with up to about 250 GeV total transverse energy accumulated per event. Resolution and tails of the missing transverse energy distribution are in good agreement with the simulation. The stability of the reconstructed missing transverse energy over the course of one month of data-taking has been studied, and the results are found to be stable to within 3%. |
