Lessons from physics runs

In this contribution, a reviewis given of the 2009 running experience from the LHC experiments perspective. Some emphasis will be put on experience with the spectrometer magnets, with the handshake and experiment protection, and with both online and offline information exchange between LHC machine and experiments. An outlook for 2010 operation is also presented with, for discussion, some concrete proposals for improvements on the aforementioned topics.
