Time alignment of the SPD with cosmic rays and LHC injection events

The synchronization of the signal integration for the different SPD cells is essential for the correct performance of the detector. The LHCb commissioning with cosmic rays and with the first injection events from LHC (also known as TED) has allowed a level of synchronization sufficient for the first...

description The synchronization of the signal integration for the different SPD cells is essential for the correct performance of the detector. The LHCb commissioning with cosmic rays and with the first injection events from LHC (also known as TED) has allowed a level of synchronization sufficient for the first data taking, up to 2-3 ns. This note describes the method used, based on the comparison with Monte Carlo simulations, as well as the results obtained.
