description Models with large extra dimensions are among the most promising approaches to solve the hierarchy problem between the electroweak and Planck scales. Many collider signatures are predicted by these models. The missing transverse energy plus single-jet signature has been investigated with the CMS detector at LHC, as a probe for the discovery of large extra dimensions in the framework of the ADD model. The discovery reach is studied for the mid-2010 running conditions of the LHC pp collider (E= 10 TeV, O(100) pb?1 ) taking into account systematic uncertainties and estimating the background contributions via data-driven methods. It is shown that a significant improvement to the current limits of the model can be obtained even in this very early stage.
