description | A summary of the current performance of missing transverse energy (EtMiss) in the ATLAS detector is provided. Proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass 7 TeV data collected in April 2010 and May 2010 allow for the testing the performance of reconstruction and calibration in EtMiss. Two different calibration schemes are compared; both are in good agreement with simulation. Discrepancies between the data and Monte Carlo in EtMiss distrutions are notable in events with high pt jets. Overall results demonstrate the the EtMiss reconstruction and calibration is well under control and reaching its expected performance. Also presented are Dilepton results using data of total integrated luminosty of 70 +/-8 nb^-1 taken between March 2010 and July 2010; these results show that data and Monte Carlo are in agreement and that our backgrounds for SUSY searches are under control. |
