description The H -> tautau channel is important for the observation of a Higgs boson signal. In the Standard Model, the H -> tautau would provide a significant contribution to the Higgs boson search in the low mass region when the Higgs is produced by vector boson fusion. The  H-> tautau channel is also important for the MSSM neutral Higgs boson searches through the associated production of the Higgs bosons with heavy quarks or by gluon fusion. The observation of a charged Higgs boson will constitute an irrefutable evidence of new physics beyond the Standard Model. In many particle physics models beyond the Standard Model, the top quark can decay to a bottom quark and a light charged Higgs boson (m_H+<m_top) in the reaction t to bH+. The decay channel H+->tau+nu is important in the search for a charged Higgs signal at the LHC. Fake tau-jets from various sources are a major background for Higgs signal final states containing genuine hadronic tau-jets. We report on techniques based on real data to estimate backgrounds from fake taus. Also, sensitivity prospects for early Higgs signal with taus in the final states are presented.
