description GoeGrid is a grid resource center located in Goettingen, Germany. The resources are commonly used, funded, and maintained by communities doing research in the fields grid development, computer science, biomedicine, high energy physics, theoretical physics, astrophysics, and the humanities. For the high energy physics community GoeGrid serves as a Tier-2 center for the ATLAS experiment as part of the world-wide LHC computing grid (WLCG). The status and performance of the Tier-2 center will be presented with a focus on the interdisciplinary setup and administration of the cluster. Given the various requirements of the different communities on the hardware and software setup the challenge of the common operation of the cluster will be detailed. The benefits are an efficient use of computer and manpower resources. Further interdisciplinary projects are commonly organized courses for students of all fields to support education on grid-computing.
