description This thesis examines the discovery and exclusion possibilities of a hypothetical heavy charged boson W' according to the Reference Model [1] with the CMS detector. The search is carried out in the leptonic decay channels $W' \to e\nu$. Different background estimations for QCD, t$\bar{t}$ and W are discussed and biased errors for the discovery potential in the starting phase of the LHC are examined. The analysis is implemented for an integrated luminosity of 100 pb-1 and a center of mass energy of 14 TeV. The combination of the two leptonic decay channels increases the discovery and exclusion potential.
