Sumario: | This talk will give an overview on first measurements on W and Z production in proton‐proton collisions at √s=7 TeV, recorded with the ATLAS experiment. Results correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 320 nb-1. The selection of W and Z events will be described, together with data‐driven methods used to estimate the trigger and reconstruction efficiencies, as well as the main backgrounds. The W and Z signal yields and the extracted cross sections at √s=7 TeV will be presented, as well as distributions of kinematic variables and first measurements of the W charge asymmetry. |
