Notes and thoughts about LHeC

A first look is taken at some of the ideas for a linac-ring LHeC interaction region (IR), in particular ones related to geometry, dipole and quadrupole magnet parameters, synchrotron radiation and masking. The linac-ring LHeC features an interesting IR with unique issues. With some work a first order feasible design looks possible. There are a great number of things to worry about, but there appears to be enough flexibility in the design to allow us to continue to make progress.
