Semileptonic B-decays at LHCb, and the Prospects for Measuring $V_{ub}$ and $V_{cb}$

Now, at the end of the 2010 LHC run, the LHCb experiment has collected ~38 pb$^{-1}$ of $pp$-collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. With such a data sample we aim to measure several features of semileptonic $b$-decays, moving towards a measurement of exclusive branching ratios of $B^{0}_{s/...

description Now, at the end of the 2010 LHC run, the LHCb experiment has collected ~38 pb$^{-1}$ of $pp$-collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. With such a data sample we aim to measure several features of semileptonic $b$-decays, moving towards a measurement of exclusive branching ratios of $B^{0}_{s/d} \to D^{(*)(*)}\mu\nu$ states and the $q^{2}$ dependence of the branching ratios necessary to constrain the $B^{0}_{s}$-system, determine $V_{cb}$, and later $V_{ub}$. I present a summary of the work so far on this topic in the first 0.8 pb$^{-1}$ and also the prospects for the measurement of flavour-specific asymmetry, $a_{fs}$ in 2011.
