Upper limit for D$\overline{D}$ production in pp interactions at c.m. energy of 55 GeV

From a search for e/sup +or-/ mu /sup -or+/ production at the CERN ISR an upper limit of 0.92 mu b (95% confidence limit) has been inferred for sigma .B/sub e/.B/sub mu / for the reaction p+p to D+D+X at square root s of 55 GeV. (16 refs).
