description The ATLAS LAr electronics is foreseen to be upgraded for operation during the high luminosity phase of the LHC (HL-LHC). The motivation for improving the different components are presented. An overview is given about the current status of development and testing of the LAr readout electronics components for the HL-LHC. In particular the ongoing work on radiation tolerant front-end electronics (pre-amplifiers, shapers, summing amplifiers, ADC, link-on chip, powering), on high bandwidth and low latency back-end electronics, as well as electronics for new detectors, like the ATLAS MiniFCal, are presented.
