Sumario: | It is shown that in large-p/sub T/ hadronic collisions one can measure some effective moments of quark and gluon fragmentation functions. This fact together with the expected presence of both gluon and quark jets produced with similar (Born) cross sections underlies the possibility of very sensitive QCD tests in such collisions. An efficient method for testing the theory (and in particular for minimizing the non-perturbative contamination) is proposed which can be used even at energies as low as the ISR energy range. The authors suggest the measurement of a quantity which can be interpreted as an 'effective radiation strength' of the jet and which, if QCD is correct, should interpolate between the values of the colour group factors C/sub G/=3 and C/sub F/=/sup 4///sub 3/ when x/sub T/ is varied in the range 0.05<or approximately=x/sub T/<or approximately =0.4.
