Sumario:ATLAS is a general-purpose detector located at one of the four interaction points of the Large Hadron Collider at the CERN laboratory near Geneva, Switzerland. In 2010 LHC collided proton beams at the unprecedented centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The last month of operations was dedicated to Pb-ion collisions at centre-of-mass energy of 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair. A survey of the status of the ATLAS detector in both runs is presented in this talk. The main results in proton-proton collisions, including the study of minimum bias events, jets, W and Z gauge boson production, top quark production and first searches for new physics are reviewed. First results from heavy-ion collisions are focussed on the observation of jet quenching and studies of J/psi production as a function of event centrality.
