Centrality and multiplicity dependence of dihadron correlations in PbPb and pp collisions

CMS measurements of dihadron correlations of charged particles have previously been published for high multiplicity proton-proton collisions at the center-of-mass energy of 7~TeV and for the most central 0--5\% of Lead-Lead collisions at the center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 2.76~TeV. Sumario:CMS measurements of dihadron correlations of charged particles have previously been published for high multiplicity proton-proton collisions at the center-of-mass energy of 7~TeV and for the most central 0--5\% of Lead-Lead collisions at the center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 2.76~TeV. In this paper, these results are extended to include differential information on the dihadron correlations as a function of transverse momentum, centrality (for the PbPb results), and multiplicity (for the pp results). The updated results in this paper are organized into three principal sections: (1) an extraction of jet region and ridge region yields before and after subtraction of elliptic flow in PbPb collisions, (2) a Fourier decomposition of the PbPb long-range $\Delta\eta$ correlation function, and (3) an extension of the high-multiplicity pp results to include the full 2010 statistics.
