Design and Performance of the ATLAS LAr Calorimeter

A description of the ATLAS Liquid Argon calorimeters is given with special emphasis on the Electromagnetic Calorimeter. Basic functioning, a description of the calibration system as well as the performance of the Electromagnetic Calorimeter is given.
