Sumario: | Many models of physics beyond the Standard Model predict the existence of heavy stable electrically and coloured charged particles (HSCP). The 14 TeV proton proton collisions produced by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) would open the way to the production of these particles with masses up to several hundreds of $\rm{GeV}/c^2$. The CMS and ATLAS detectors are capable of performing a direct observation of these particles by exploiting their unique signature: low velocity associated with a high momentum of the order a few hundred $\rm{GeV}/c$. The perspectives for HSCP searches with integrated luminosities of $100$~pb$^{-1}$ and $1$~fb$^{-1}$ are presented. |
