AN ESTIMATE OF DATA FLOW FROM THE END CAP CALORIMETER (HE) FOR DIFFERENT SEGMENTATIONS
An estimate of data flow from HE ten-degree sector for different segmentation methods is discussed. The data flow for different segmentations is presented. Sumario: | An estimate of data flow from HE ten-degree sector for different segmentation methods is discussed. The data flow for different segmentations is presented. Existing FEE of one HE ten-degree sector sends twelve 32-bit words (324 bits) to back-end electronics (counting room) each 25 ns. One 32-bit word is transmitted via Gigabit Optical Link at 1.6 Gb/s. Draft estimate of data flow in case of increased longitudinal segmentation of HE shows that ~1000 bits of data should be sent from HE ten-degree sector via a set of 4.8 Gb/s fiber links. Discussion about pixel segmentation of HE is very preliminary. It allows only identify the main problems arising in data recording. |
