B to J/$\psi$ measurement in PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV with CMS

Although the RHIC experiments have measured the inclusive J/$\psi$ and open heavy-flavor productions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV, no data are available yet for the contribution of secondary J/$\psi$ from the B-hadron decays in heavy-ion collisions. Sumario:Although the RHIC experiments have measured the inclusive J/$\psi$ and open heavy-flavor productions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV, no data are available yet for the contribution of secondary J/$\psi$ from the B-hadron decays in heavy-ion collisions. Since the B-hadron and the prompt J/$\psi$ interact with the medium differently, subtracting the non-prompt J/$\psi$ contribution is crucial for our understanding of modifications in the prompt J/$\psi$ production in heavy-ion collision. It should also be a measure of $b$-quark energy loss. CMS is able to separate the prompt and the non-prompt J/$\psi$ in PbPb collisions performing an unbinned 2-dimensional maximum-likelihood fit to the mass and pseudo-proper decay length distributions. In this paper, the first measurement of non-prompt J/$\psi$ production in the dimuon channel, as a function of centrality in PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV is presented.
